Amudha has a footwear shop

I am Amutha liviging in Theivasigamanipuram village.  I have two children who are studying. Both my husband and I are HIV positive. I was depressed and often had a tendency to commit suicide.  The community deserted us and not interested to speak to us. My health deteriorated and was unable to do any regular work.  We struggled to have even one meal a day. My children used to have their lunch from school.

In this situation I had a chance to join the SSH programme. SSH gave me household things like cooking vessels, water filter, blankets, nutrition food packages and educational support for my children.  The counselling services from SSH created self confidence in me. Moreover I received money from SSH for starting up a small business.  I soon started a footwear shop, managed by me and my husband. We get around Rs.250 per day as profit.  Now I am very happy and taking regular ART treatment and my health too improved. I am able to provide nutritional food to my children.  I thank SSH for having given a new life for me and my family members.
